Source hierarchy
For laws, immigration, safety notices, platform requirements, statistics, and public programs, the preferred source is the responsible authority, standards body, original research, or primary platform documentation. Secondary reporting and firsthand accounts can add context but do not replace the authority for a rule.
Every long-form Fieldbook article contains one relevant official-source checkpoint. That link supports a defined portion of the guide rather than functioning as a blanket endorsement of the entire article.
Scope, dates, and uncertainty
Observations are scoped by neighborhood, date, season, traveler profile, and method when those details matter. Volatile facts such as visa requirements, prices, exchange rates, transport, closures, safety guidance, and platform policies must be rechecked at the point of decision. Estimates and personal observations should not be presented as universal facts.
Reviews, rankings, and claims
The site does not publish fabricated reviews, testimonials, ratings, partnerships, awards, credentials, or performance statistics. A comparison should state the criteria, applicant or user scenario, evidence, uncertainty, and tradeoffs. There is no universal “best” destination, visa, tool, or lifestyle for every reader.
Commercial independence and disclosure
A material relationship—including payment, commission, gifted access, employment, ownership, or sponsored travel—must be disclosed clearly where it could affect how a recommendation is evaluated. Commercial terms do not guarantee coverage, ranking, favorable conclusions, or continued inclusion. See the separate affiliate disclosure for the current status of links on this site.
Corrections and removals
Factual corrections, privacy concerns, stale high-impact information, and broken sources can be reported to [email protected]. The review considers the original evidence, current evidence, scope, potential harm, and whether a correction, clarification, update, link change, or removal is appropriate.
Professional advice and safety
The content is general information and decision support. High-stakes legal, immigration, tax, medical, security, financial, and safety questions require current official information and, when appropriate, qualified professionals who can assess the reader’s facts.
